JOB BRIEF: The Legal and Debt Recovery Intern will provide legal, administrative, and debt recovery support to the Internal Legal Counsel. The role offers hands-on exposure to legal matters, litigation support, lease administration, contract documentation, and debt recovery within a commercial real estate environment. Working under supervision, the intern will assist with drafting legal documents, following up on debtor accounts, and coordinating with internal departments, external advocates, and other stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for a law or paralegal student or recent graduate to build practical skills in legal support and credit control. Title: Legal and Debt Recovery Intern Department: Legal Reports To: Internal Legal Counsel RESPONSIBILITIES Provide legal, administrative, and debt recovery support to the Internal Legal Counsel Assist in drafting legal documents, demand letters, settlement agreements, and lease documentation Support litigation matters, including preparing court filings and coordinating with external advocates Assist in following up with debtors and tracking agreed repayment plans Monitor overdue accounts and help prepare recovery reports in liaison with Finance Maintain legal records and case files in line with company policies KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Diploma in Law, Paralegal Studies, or related field (completed or final year) Attachment or internship exposure in legal support, litigation, or conveyancing is an added advantage Basic understanding of debt collection, credit control, or accounts receivable Ability to assist in drafting legal documents and demand letters under supervision Foundational knowledge of court procedures and debt recovery mechanisms Strong communication skills, MS Office proficiency, and high professional integrity Attention to detail and eagerness to learn HOW TO APPLY Interested candidates are requested to email their application letter and a detailed curriculum vitae, with Legal and Debt Recovery Intern in the subject line, to hr@nwrealite.co.ke by Thursday, 15th October 2026 at 5:00 pm.
